The following list contains tissues collected from midwater and coastal
marine specimens from around the world. Included is the New Zealand Glow Worm
cDNA library. Many of the species listed have excellent unidirectional
lambda-zap cDNA or genomic libraries.

Most of these libraries were obtained for their bioluminescent or fluorescent
properties and several new green fluorescent proteins (GFP) and novel
coelenterazine dependent luciferases have been cloned.

These tissues and libraries will be made available under license to bona fide
academic researchers at a nominal charge (for my time to look through my
liquid nitrogen freezers, obtain dry ice, packaging and shipping).

They are not intended for commercialization, but certainly discoveries
resulting from them could be licensed under nominal terms. This is related to
partial recovery of the high expense required to obtain these materials in
the pristine conditions required for mRNA recovery.

Jellyfish libraries are extremely hard to make and many thanks go to Mike
Kobrin, and the great people at the Stratagene Cloning Systems, Inc. Library
Department.

If you are interested please contact me directly and the details or
availability of a particular library will be sent to you. Sorry to say that
for several of the tissues on the list we were not able to obtain mRNA in
sufficient quantity for cDNA. There may be a genomic library in those cases.
